Script for Weather- Copy

Actual Script:

The forecast for today shows blue skies and sunshine. So it's a great day to get your flip-flops on, head down to the beach and grab and ice cream. Highs of twenty seven degrees and a small chance of a slight breeze.

Analysis:

We chose to present our weather forecast like this as it is fairly informal making it more exciting for the listener as well as informing them of the weather. It helps create a more friendly, conversational vibe for our target audience.

Script for Wedding Story- Cue and Clip

Hollywood actor Benedict Cumberbatch is expected to marry fiancee Sophie Hunter on the Isle of Wight. They're due to marry at a ceremony this weekend at the church in Mottistone before a wedding reception at Mottistone Manor. His Sherlock co-star and best man, Martin Freeman says the Isle of Wight is the perfect location.

Martin Freeman: The Isle of Wight is the perfect place for a wedding. I am honored to be a part of this great celebration, and just hope the weather holds out and I don't mess up my speech.

Preliminary Task

Here is our Preliminary Task; in this first task my group came up with a name and jingle for our radio as well as being able to see which members work best in certain roles or tasks. This enabled us to work together as a group. Feedback that we got from others and that we made ourselves consisted of; the volume throughout our radio piece not being consistent. Therefore we need to work on how we edit certain parts of the audio. Also we were told that each audio recording didn't really flow nicely and so we faded in and out of each part so that it was fluent in the end.

Psychographics

  • Mainstreamers - Seek Security
  • Aspirers - Seek Status
  • Succeeders - Seek Control
  • Resigned - Seek Survival
  • Explorers - Seek Discovery
  • Strugglers - Seek Escape
  • Reformers - Seek Enlightment

Psychographics is a way that media institutions can obtain their target audiences through peoples personal like and dislikes; rather than placing them into categories like demographics. Putting demographics and psychographics together to obtain a target audience what be much more efficient as you can take into account: Gender, Age, Class as well as Personal Preference.

Pros- More about a person personality (likes as dislikes).
Cons- Takes time and money, Can overlap/ be in two (may change due to mood).

With the Isle of Wight Festival rapidly approaching, the eleventh to the fourteenth of June is looking to be a weekend to remember. With the final headliner being announced next Friday, rumors are already speculating about a possible appearance form the recently reformed Blur. They would join the likes of the already confirmed performers: Fleetwood Mac, The Prodigy, Pharrell Williams, Paolo Nutini and The Black Keys.

We asked students and teachers at Christ The King College whether they were planning to attend the festival this summer.

Script for International Story - Cue and Voicepiece

Cue:
Hollywood Film, The Interview, has earnt its producers almost seven times more money through its online release than at the box office. Our entertainment correspondent, reports on the effects this could have on cinemas as a whole...

Voicepiece:
The interview; the film that brought Sony to its knees at the end of last year, has now provided us with an insight to the future of cinema. After the initial hack on Sony regarding the controversial film about the assassination of the North Korean leader, the future of potential blockbuster remained uncertain. But it was later announced the film would receive a limited cinema release, as well as online, which allow people to pay to watch the film without even leaving their homes.
Its been revealed that the film grossed almost seven times more from the online sales, a revenue of forty million dollars, compared with box office sales, earning only five point nine million dollars. Could these statistics change the way we view our films in the future?

Cue:
Thanks again from, Jess. Now in local news...

Analysis:

We have chosen to have the presenter speak more informal due to the fact that our target audience wanted this to be able to relate to them and feel more in a conversation; than being told information.
